Visual Identity - Essay Example Truly, when I have taken a gander at the primary Apple logo, it turns out to be clear why the organization chose to supplant it immediately and transform it into increasingly basic and significant visual image. At first, after some time the Apple logo in its type of apple has changed start with a ‘rainbow apple’, than proceeding with a water shading plan, and completion with white and crude aluminum shading plans that is notable for all clients now and still stays unmistakable and related in people’s minds with Apple Inc. However, the Apple logo has a symbolical importance and tells its clients that an apple, being the ‘fruit of the Tree of Knowledge’ offers individuals a chance to cognize science and leave bit of information in own souls and brains. Considering essential structure components and realistic methods that were utilized in the production of this visual personality we can specify that the last cleaned chrome logo is a perfect variation for a genuine PC organization, since it has no additional items, while a shiny chrome finish spruces up the symbol in the best

A case study of clothes R Us Essay

Presentation Garments R Us opened its entryways and started activities over 10 years ago.â When the organization initially opened, the authors and CEOs were on the floor attempting to offer to clients their different garments and plans. The dresses accompanied conserved costs, spared clients time that would have been spent searching for the correct clothing and in this manner make the customer’s lives less entangled. The store has become such a great amount in the previous decade, to turn into a significant provider chain that isn't just broadly perceived yet additionally all around prestigious. The sensational development accompanies significantly higher development as far as yearly deals and salary. The organization has shockingly keeps on keeping up a type of free human asset technique. Supervisors have given little consideration towards rebuilding the human asset and checking of execution particularly with regards to fixed representatives. Absence of a concentrated framework to control and deal with the departments’ implies that there are no particular subtleties on the presentation of employees.â Clothes R us has worked with a decentralized, freewheeling society in which each head supervisor has treated their own representatives as an individual realm where the director has the option to control their enlistment and execution as they see fit. Lion's share of the full time sales reps have professional educations notwithstanding huge involvement with their region of specialization. Be that as it may, there is proceeded with discontent with the dependence on easygoing employees.â The root of the issue originated from the good 'ol days when the organization required modest work. Tragically, the proceeded with dependence on easygoing representatives has caused dispiriting among the perpetual workers. An organization that was seeing a lot of development in the past isn't confronting an emergency in human asset. Characterizing the issue Indeed, even with different methodologies coming to play to guarantee that the organization doesn't come up short on required labor, these may be viable if the perpetual representatives are propelled to perform at an a lot higher level.â Clothes R US is just beginning to understand the significance of a spurred work power. The test comes in guaranteeing and keep up the inspiration of workers.  Continued dependence on easygoing workers has controlled the adaptability of the lasting representatives. Representatives come up short on the chance to be autonomous. Easygoing representatives take up jobs that would require imaginative administration and aptitudes; as such the organization is presently experiencing the presence of a dull work power. Supervisors have been delayed in seeing, how adaptability inspires the employees.â Flexibility isn't simply in things of obligations yet in addition as far as the work hours and even the work place. A typical statement is that change is tantamount to a rest. Proficient human asset advisors frequently exhortation organizations to guarantee that representatives have an assortment of gifts, moves and even work areas. The change frequently serves to cause the activity to appear to be new and in this way rouse the employee.â Poor inspiration additionally implies hi gh turnover of the workers. Low confidence:â certainty is a character that sets out the establishment of worker inspiration. It is significant for representatives to feel they have the right stuff as well as the skill to manage different difficulties at the work place. Since, Clothes R US concentrates more on utilizing incidentally representatives to oversee straightforward assignments; workers are quick losing trust in their capacity to perform. With the arranged extension, the organization is presently confronting an emergency. Workers are reluctant to leave their customary ranges of familiarity, reluctant to chip in for the new undertaking and in any event, deciding on expanded turn over.â Because lion's share of the representatives in the organization show low confidence, they can't utilize their abilities and gifts. Further, they are totally incapable to shape positive work connections. This implies they are not exactly faithful to the organization and hence bound to look for other business in any event, when they are procuring less. It isn't astounding in this manner to find that representatives of materials R US are continually discovering pardons with regards to why they are not performing, why the organization isn't developing instead of upgrading their own aptitudes to guarantee better execution.  The organization is at present having a changeless work power experiencing low confidence. Brought down desires: one of the fundamental disadvantages of depending on present and unexpected workers is that the exhibition levels and desires for progress have been brought down in the organization. It is in this way to be expected to find that the changeless workers just do as much as is required of them to meet their own obligations. The changeless workers don't propel themselves or even put forth a concentrated effort wholeheartedly and perseveringly to their employments. The organization low desires have served to murder worker assurance to improve and better at each errand. Rather, representatives report to work, do the base and leave the rest to the easygoing workers. Possibility condition: possibility laborers frequently give a bit of leeway to managers. Garments R US started exploiting this gathering of specialist during the early long periods of extension. Possibility laborers don't anticipate benefits and are frequently paid substantially less than lasting specialists. They are given testing errands which would somehow or another cost the organization as far as preparing changeless representatives to guarantee they have what it takes to finish the job.â Unfortunately, the expansion of possibility laborers in the organization has had a negative effect. Possibility laborers will in general acquire eagerness perpetual representatives who are persuaded that life could show signs of improvement and additionally intriguing outside the organization. Further, possibility laborers don't gangs the security and solidness of changeless workers; they subsequently need duty to the activity which will in general come off on lasting representatives. They favor the opportunity of their impermanent status and regularly appear to be profoundly made up for basic undertakings. This circumstance is probably going to de-inspire the perpetual workers notwithstanding causing strife and strain with different representatives. With time, the lasting representatives start to lose enthusiasm for specific undertakings enemy which they believe they ought to likewise be redressed and remunerated. Legitimate ramifications Change in association structure: a move or development of Clothes R US influences the area of the business as well as the association and business structure. Chiefs should plunk down and re-characterize employments and duties to suit the new store. This likewise implies deciding the strategies through which the stores will get their stock and convey the equivalent. As an enlisted business, the organization should report the adjustment in structure. Gopal (2008) shows this is a stage that is frequently over-looked during development and which could demonstrate somewhat more than exorbitant to the new pursuit. Enrolled organizations need to record such changes and report them to the enlistment center of organizations for their own assurance. Should a question emerge, the organization will go to the progressions recorded with the enlistment center and this is the thing that will be utilized to decide the heading of the case. Permits to operate: despite the fact that the new store will be working as an establishment of the primary store, note that licenses will be required for this specific business. This remembers licenses to work for Sheffield, and furthermore appropriate things in Sheffield. Absence of a permit is viewed as misrepresentation and could land ranking directors and the business itself in a ton of lawful issues. Furthermore, the business will require an assessment enlistment. Numerous entrepreneurs expect that the new pursuit will work with a similar duty enlistment. In any case, as indicated by the law, the two organizations are isolated endeavors and require singular duty enlistment licenses. Zoning prerequisites: in spite of the fact that there are a few attire and style organizations working in Sheffield, before opening the store it is critical to research and discover a portion of the zoning necessities. To maintain a strategic distance from clog zoning laws are changed every now and again. Should such law produce results before the opening of the business, all things considered, a similar business could be shut before taking off. Non-revelation: being in an unpredictable industry, for example, design and apparel; the organization has extended exceptionally quick. With a high turnover of workers, it isn't amazing that numerous different organizations with practically comparable structure including showcasing and client relationship are being set up.â This presentation is an aftereffect of overlooking the significance of a non-revelation concurrence with all representatives. Classified data is released, previous representatives set up contending shops all on the grounds that the non-revelation is overlooked, (Dessler 2000). From here on hereafter all representatives lasting and unexpected should consent to non-exposure arrangements arranged by the lawful divisions and painstakingly organized for the organization needs. Non-exposure understandings are for the workers as well as different partners who come into contact with the organization. This incorporates providers who might be enticed to contact contenders with delicate data that could win them a decent and better benefit. This implies all agreements must incorporate a tight and restricting non-exposure understanding. This decreases the introduction of the organization and allows to lawfully battle any presentation by partners, providers and workers (previous and present) effectively. Keeping up solid connections During a move, for example, is arranged by Clothes R US, the organization regularly overlooks the necessities of the human asset or doesn't satisfactorily address such needs. A move and extension, for example, this one is probably going to bring sentiments of uneasiness or worry. In the event that such emotions are not appropriately tended to, the workers will turn out to be not exactly inspired and strife levels may emerge. Coming up next are a portion of the techniques which could be utilized to guarantee a sound relationship during the move: Correspondence: the comm

A Better Non Orthogonal Space Time Block Code - 1223 Words

Cooperative communication is a new concept of research and it is a powerful technique to mitigate fading in wireless relaying layout. Concerning with the fading problem, this paper is focuses to give a better non-orthogonal space-time block code (STBC) scheme and assimilate it in the cooperative relaying nodes for upgrading performance of the system. Golden coded has also been incorporated in IEEE 802.16 (Wi-MAX) standard as a full rate full diversity space-time code and proven to present a ranking performance in a wireless MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) scenario than any other code. At the receiver, maximum likelihood detection of different symbol is achieved through decoupling of the signal transmit from different antenna rather than joint detection. In this paper multihop wireless relay consisting of source, relay and destination each equipped with two antennas have been taken into account using decode-and-forward cooperative protocol strategy in relay nodes. The simulation results support the effectiveness of the proposed scheme by offering better SER performance and increased spectral efficiency than other codes. Supply Shocks A Common Phenomenon - 1661 Words

Supply shocks are a common phenomenon in the market situations. It is an event whereby there is a sudden change of service and goods prices due to an instant change in the supply function of the market. Supply shocks exist in two forms; negative supply shock and positive supply shock. The two types of supply shocks lead to the effect on the equilibrium price. Negative supply shocks involve the sudden decrease in supply and the instant increase in price of commodity. The end result of the negative supply shocks involve the stagflation of the market whereby output falls with raising prices. Positive supply shocks involve an increase in the supply of a commodity (Lewis Mizen 2000). The essay aims at analyzing and describing the role of supply shocks in models of optimal discretionary monetary policy and reflecting on the application of the shocks to help central bankers in the financial crisis of 2007 to 2008. Optimal Discretionary Monetary Policies Optimal discretionary policies are initiatives that aim at improving the net worth of a market or economic situation. The optimal discretionary monetary policies are policies that ensure that there are monetary advantages within the market through ensuring that the money supply is favourable for handling of various tasks (Barro Gordon 1983). Somewhat, these classifications recognize progressively and less dependable wellsprings of data. Be that as it may, the refinements are neither clear nor completely steady. Nuts and bolts of Citing Websites When posting Internet sources in your References or Works Cited, the most vital thing to recollect is that you will probably make it simple for a reader to counsel your sources. (This equivalent objective is vital when posting print sources.) For most locales, that implies you ought to incorporate the full URL for the page you refer to in your paper (the web address that starts http). Be that as it may, sites change, and the location you utilized wont generally be dynamic when your reader attempts to see a source. Therefore, its critical to incorporate both the date you got to the site and furthermore a full record of the individual, gathering, or association that supports the site. Find out about the writer causes readers to evaluate the source and furthermore, now and again, to discover the source when the site has been moved or updated. Staying away from Plagiarism The simplicity of utilizing electronic wellsprings of any sort can make it harder to monitor where the source closes and your unique commitment starts—and you should dependably keep that refinement clear. Perceive How to Copy and Paste yet Not Plagiarize for guidance about how to utilize electronic sources admirably. Regarding Privacy The vast majority of this guide centers around helping you subordinate sources to your own thoughts. When all is said in done, we feature your need to regard creators scholarly or property rights, disclosing how to give individuals acknowledgment for their thoughts while recognizing your own unique commitments. However, the simplicity of utilizing electronic sources additionally raises threats about what may be called protection rights, driving you to make open words that the first creator planned just as private correspondence. When somebody talks in broad daylight, takes an interest in a meeting, or distributes a bit of composing, he or she certainly concurs that other individuals may allude to this material in research. Be that as it may, some electronic sources obscure the line among open and private correspondence. Indeed, even in this last classification, theres not a firm standard you can pursue. In the event that your college sends a declaration to all understudies by means of email, you may sensibly think about this open data. In the event that your closest companion uncovers something harming or humiliating in an email sent just to you, its obviously private. Be that as it may, imagine a scenario where a teacher keeps in touch with you about something identified with the course. Or on the other hand on the off chance that you get a message that is sent just to the individuals from a little club? Duplicating Text without Plagiarizing One accommodation of utilizing electronic sources is the capacity—once youve chosen the sections you wish to cite—to reorder citations as opposed to having the retype them into your paper. Indeed, even before you start drafting a paper, reordering areas from your sources appears a simple method to take notes, so you can look the material over later without surfing back to the site. This very comfort, notwithstanding, likewise drives essayists into peril. Amidst inquiring about and taking notes, its simply too simple to glue citations into your document with the goal to return later and note down the source. When you come back to your draft, it tends to be difficult to recognize your very own composition from the entries youve duplicated. As talked about in Understanding and Avoiding Plagiarism, the most exceedingly awful result of neglecting to recognize sources is to yourself: on the off chance that you glue in somebodys words as your own, you will pass up on the chance to include your analysis, and along these lines pass up on a chance to develop as a scholar and author. A large portion of this guide centers around such educated purposes behind working appropriately with sources, as opposed to stressing the punishments of written falsification. But since the reorder procedure is so normal, its particularly essential to caution you about its potential for maltreatment.

Paramedic science degree (Medical) Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Paramedic science degree (Medical) - Essay Example Hence, her doctor advised bariatric surgery six months ago. Her initial surgery led to a 5% weight loss within the first two months of the gastric banding surgery. She was encouraged by results and so she requested for the biliopancreatic diversion without duodenal switch. This procedure also helped her lose more weight. Her third request for surgery is being considered by her physician due to dependency concerns. Her physician, as well as the rest of the medical team believes that she has become dependent on bariatric surgeries and they are reluctant to encourage or feed such dependency. When confronted with such concern, she insisted that she has not become dependent on the surgeries and that this was the last surgery she would take to help her lose weight. Despite medical advice, she insists that she needs the gastric stimulation surgery in order to effectively help her lose more weight. Feelings (What was I thinking and feeling?) While caring for the bariatric patient who was bec oming dependent on our services, I felt that we needed to put an end to her dependency. The bariatric surgery during the earliest stages of her diabetes is an effective means of reducing her weight. In a study by Dixon, et.al. (2005, p. 472), the authors were able to establish that bariatric surgery done at the earliest stages of diabetes is very much beneficial to patients because it helps reduce and manage their weight and successively help them achieve better results in their diabetes management. Two bariatric surgeries however, are more than sufficient for the current patient to gradually and safely lose weight; and allowing the third surgery to proceed would also be akin to enabling her dependence. I could sense that her demeanour and attitude about the surgeries were based on the concept that the surgeries can be easily availed of and it was her right to demand said services. I felt that her dependence on bariatric surgeries must be stopped and the services to be offered to he r must be based on her health maintenance – not on more bariatric surgeries. In a study by Kushner (2000, p. 126), the authors emphasized the importance fulfilling the essential caloric intake from the limited food intake allowable after gastric banding. This should be focused on by the patient – not the need for more surgeries. Evaluation (What was good and bad about the experience?) What was good about the experience was that I learned to detect signs of dependence in patients. I was able to assess the patient’s behaviour and attitude about the surgery and to determine whether these symptoms were indicative of dependence. The experience also taught me how to deal with patients and their dependence. Normally, I would have given in to a patient’s requests; and, this experience taught me to how to therapeutically refuse a patient’s requests or demands. Therapeutically refusing a patient is not simply about refusing a patient’s requests, but i t is also about making oneself available to respond to the patient’s emotional needs (Austin, 2010, p. 483). What was bad about the experience was that we had limited options for the patient in terms of psychological or mental health assistance. We knew that she was going through some mental health issues which affected her determination to lose weight. As health professionals, we could have provided more counselling for her in order to ensure that she would be able to deal with the emotional challenges of her obesity and to

Employment Relations Essay Example for Free

Employment Relations Essay The dynamic nature of the business environment and the increasing global competition has prompted business owners as well as other stakeholders to pay more attention to the area of employment relations. This can be attributed to the increased level of awareness regarding the relationship between employment relations and productivity . Management teams in most organizations have taken a keen interest in employment relations now more than ever before. Today, human resource practitioners and departments in organizations have rapidly transformed into most vibrant people and departments due to their increasingly important roles. This paper analyses the role played by the management in regard to the formation and structure of employment relations in the context of the retail industry in Australia. Employment relations (ER) refer to the different systems and techniques utilized in managing people. Employment relations are a broad and all encompassing term that also covers human resource management and industrial relations (Guite, T. 1999). Human resource management revolves the directing and controlling of the work force in a particular organization to forge unity so that there can be harmonious relationship between the management and workers for maximum productivity (Nilson, C. 2003. ). Industrial relation has to do with the resolution with work related disputes between the employees and their organizations and the management (Guite, T. 1999). There have been significant reforms in Australia in the last decade in regard to industrial disputation. This has seen the reduction of inconsistencies in the area of dispute and conflict management. ER as a professional field includes the laid down rules and regulations, attitudes, cultures, policies and behavior surrounding the employment relationship (Cranny, C et al, 1992). It involves the participation of key players such as employees with their formal and informal organizations, employers with their associations and the government and its relevant institutions in regard to their employment concerns. Employment relationship refers to the contract between two parties one being the employee and the other the employer. The employee is the person in servitude to the other under contractual terms, which may be written or oral (Walter, J. 2006). In this relationship the employer has an upper hand in the decision-making and conceptually is the one who gives the direction, which is to be followed. Concept This leadership role is key to any organization and may be held by an individual (in cases of small and micro businesses) or a management team in cases of medium or large organizations. The management has the role of controlling and directing people towards achieving corporate objective. Team work is involved where one person is not able to produce what is actually needed in the company. Potential human resources, financial resources and natural resources are all deployed and manipulated through the management (Mullins, L. 2005. ). Management as a function in the organization involves the act of getting things done through people in the most efficient way on a regular basis. The management is also charged with the responsibility of initializing plans and action that ought to be taken by the organization in order to reach the corporate objective. The management therefore is involved in the planning, organizing, motivating, controlling, coordinating the resources in an organization in order to achieve the maximum possible productivity levels. There are different arms under which the management falls including human resource management, operations management, production management, strategic management, financial management and information technology management (Walter, J. 2006). In this section, we are interested in the human resource management where it is noted that the role of this arm of management has been changing and becoming increasingly important in organizations today. The human resource department in any organization has the role of understanding and developing the human capital as well as engaged in dissemination of good organizational culture among the workforce (Cranny, C et al, 1992). The key role of management in employment relations is defined as communication. Various aspects of employees’ relationship with the management are handled according to the laid down rules, policies, and practices of the organization. In the modern workplace the employees are encouraged to air their views and grievances through this important arm of the management. This has the impact of reducing organizational conflicts and thus saving organizations both money and time that would otherwise have been used in the follow-ups of litigation cases. Other specific areas of interest between management and employees include payments of wages, bonuses and salaries, workplace conflict resolution, work timetable, health and safety, productivity targets and general grievances that employees may have . It cannot therefore be said that the management plays a passive role in employment relations rather in this day and age; the management plays an all important role that has the effect of unifying all the resources of the organization especially the human resource in order to maximize productivity. The management ensures that all the employees are working together in harmony towards the cooperate goal. In addition to this, the management has to engage in dialogue with the relevant government institutions in order to ensure that all regulations pertaining to employment relations are adhered to. It can therefore be said that the management has a most central role in holding together the different stake holders in employment relations. That task requires different skills and knowledge of management and leadership methods. Retail industry in Australia The retail industry in Australia is by far the biggest employer employing about 12% of the working population. The retail markets consist of sellers of goods directly to consumers and other final users. This industry is also characterized by the highest number of untrained workers. The working conditions are most varied and working hours are not regulated but are determined by the individual retailers. Important changes to the retail work relations systems have been introduced in the work relations act of 1996 (Pocock, Barbara Masterman-Smith, Helen. 2005). One of the responsibilities for determining all matters touching on the employer/employee relationship is on the hands of these two key stakeholders at the work place. According to the new rules, and agreements employers and employees are encouraged to resolve their matters without relying on external mediators. However, the key areas such as minimum wages and working conditions standards have been established by the Australian fair pay commission as well as the parliamentary decree(Catanzariti, J. Baragwanath, M. 1997 ). There has been a major reform in employee relations in the retail industry in Australia. There have been conscious measures to regulate the work place environment in this industry with different variations sort in recognition to the changes made to the shop trading hours act of 1997. Some of these variations include the expansion and scope of working hours, the minimum wage upgrades (Creighton, B. Stewart, A. 994). There has also been a need for direction on the number of hours that employees should be given for leave. Additionally, when working at odd hours different pay terms have been negotiated. This includes working on Sundays and working at night. In order to ensure that employees are not overworked, it has been suggested that there be introduced a system of working shifts. The federal government in Australia is mandated by the constitution to make laws that regulate matters concerning conciliation and dispute resolution in order to prevent industrial dispute that would extent beyond anyone state (Teicher, J. Lambert, R. O’Rourke, A. 2006. ). Workers in the retail industry in Australia have enjoyed higher standards of living due to significant legislative reforms regarding the work place relation. These reforms have also served to increase productivity due to the lower rates of industrial disputation. However, more reforms are needed to increase the flexibility and options for both employees and employers. These interventions measures by the government are aimed at spurring economic growth as well improve global competitiveness. The retail industry is a good place to begin owing that it is the major employer in Australia. Today, there has been less dependence on awards by industrial tribunals that were used to negotiate and determine the environment as well as compensation and benefits for employees within the traditional work place relations systems. The management, has been empowered further by these new reforms since all matters and disputes that regard work place relations are first to be dealt with between the employees and employers before any further form of remedial action can be taken. The work place relations act of 1996 has ensured that the alias award system by industrial tribunals has a minimum role of determining minimum wages instead of its initial role of determination and prescription of employees’ wages, and conditions allowed by their employers. Decentralized agreement mean that negotiations are done between employers and employees or between employers and employees organizations (unions) and thirdly, between the management and government institutions. Employees have the option of requesting for a bargaining agent. The retail workers are also vulnerable to different forms of injustices. The comprehensive reforms in work place relations follow the introduction of work choices legislation in 2005 (Catanzariti, J. Baragwanath, M. 1997). Some of the changes touch on work place health and safety application, new dismissal provision, and new transmission of laid down regulations, buying and selling of businesses, union restriction and the scrapping of no disadvantage test among other changes (Creighton, B. Stewart, A. 1994). All these reforms have the effect of giving more responsibility to the management in this matter of employment relations than ever before. Employer obligations are made known to all in the varied business situations. The reforms have also resulted in employees enjoying more freedom and job securities because employers are required to take great care when effecting a dismissal since employees can now claim compensation against unlawful dismissal or discrimination. These laws are applied widely to even small businesses with less than hundred employees. These small businesses are mostly consisting of retail businesses. The importance of management in employment relation cannot be over emphasized. This is highlighted by the fact that the management as a key stake holder is charged with the responsibility of coordinating all the relations between labor unions and labor laws. This is done with the sole aim of improving the quality of produce as well as achievement of organizational goals. It has to be noted here that the management is responsible to the business owners and stakeholders if there is a slackening in productivity or if profitability decreases. Therefore, the management is under pressure to ensure that there is a conducive working environment as well as quality working life for its employees in order to make it possible for success to be achieved. In the retail industry, the management of these businesses is subjected to the obligation of comprehending the laid down guidelines regarding employment relations. Conclusion. It is evident from these discussions that the management is at the centre of all matters relating to employment relations. The management roles as key stakeholder in organizational structure ensures that the management has not only understand the broader concepts of employers obligations to the employees but also forge a working relationship with the labor unions while ensuring that all the legal regulations are adhered to. Since the last decade several reforms in the area of employment relations have been undertaken and they have served to empower the management and to increase its responsibilities towards its employees and towards ensuring that laws are followed to the letter. These increased responsibilities have helped to streamline the work place environment especially in the retail industry which had been earlier characterized by inconsistencies and to great extent injustices towards employees. The management is now required to be extra vigilant to ensure that employment relations systems in a particular organization are such that they serve to improve productivity and to ensure that the company utilizes all their human resources for the achievement of corporate objective.

Eminem :: essays papers

Eminem In â€Å"like Eminem says, why all the fuss?† featured in The Age journalist Shaun Carney defends Eminem and his lyrics. Carny stresses that Eminem winning the category should not be so controversial when Mathers is clearly depicting a role. His contention through out the article is to convince the reader to refrain from reaching to eminem, as a parody. Carny effectively seeks the neutral role during the story. He leans neither way. Carny signifies specific word choice and language devices to shock his audience and to create an underlying sense of non-prejudice, realistic view on society perhaps to open up the views of a small-minded prejudice race. Carny’s headline is very striking it creates tension and almost gives a sense of obligation to the audience to read on. Carneys headline is used as a device to capture the readers immediate attention. This foreshadows the final remark made by Carny, â€Å"so much for scandal,† now leaving the reader with a question , a parallel between start and finish tightly constructing the article. This clever technique leaves the reader open handed and open-minded to think about the actual topic of the article. Though Carny’s contention through-out the article is to suggest Eminem is â€Å"Just Joking’, he is not all, scared of presenting Marshall as ‘not so nice’ explaining him as â€Å"a 28 year old production of a peripatetic white-trash upbrining.† Then contradicting himself saying â€Å"Mathers all wounded and victimised by his sole-parent upbrining .† Is this not a slight use of sarcasm? putting himself in the biased head of an out reaged parent. Carney conveys his opinion in a very structured way. He uses Eminem song lyrics to show that he is a role player and only joking, â€Å"I’m just playin ladies. You know I love you.† Carney uses other examples to reassure people say the situations he raps about are â€Å"just clownin’.† Although readers may not realise, Carney these more realistic, human-like comments as a source of evidence to back up his contention that eminem are not real, Marshall Mathers is an actor playing a role, ultimately just doing his job. Carney’s clever style of writing indicates a strong point of view defending Eminem , but his style of writing has allowed the reader to make their own decision, giving a fair balance between good and bad. â€Å"Eminem deals in some very sick stuff, no doubt about it,† but again goes on to say, â€Å"Eminem is a skillfull storyteller and role player.

Credible Nutrition Information Essay

It is four in the afternoon and your feeling that daily slow down after a long day. Some people turn to a chocolate bar, cup of coffee, healthy fruit but many are turning to Red Bull for the boost of energy. However, children these days are exposed to more advertisement each day, which as a result has them also drinking Red Bull. Little do they know that they could very well be harming themselves with every gulp. This paper will provide information on sources that have seen these problems and are now trying desperately to education the public Part A I personally would use Google to find background information on the topic. If I could not do so and I had no idea where to do, I would use an encyclopaedia to search related topics on my own without uses them as sources (i.e. Wikipedia). Furthermore, once I have established the direction in which I desire to go about writing the assignment, I would then look for credited or relevant websites, keeping in mind quality over quantity. The three websites I have chosen for this assignment are the following: 1) WebMd.com: This is a very useful websites when you need medical information on health concerns, injuries, diet and much more. The link with regards to this assignment is below: http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/news/20080924/energy-drinks-hazardous-to-your-health 2) NineMSN.com: This is practically MSN and the Australian Media. I found this article with information provided by the Australian Drug Foundation’s Drug Info Clearinghouse who is sponsored by the Australian Drug Foundation. Furthermore providing a very interesting news report. The link with regards to this assignment is below: http://health.ninemsn.com.au/family/familyhealth/689831/energy-drinks 3) Seattletimes.nwsource.com: This 2010 Pulitzer Prize winning news paper station has reported direct information regarding this assignment. The link with regards to this assignment is below: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/health/2004322357_zhea02energy.html 4) Redbull.com: What better source to use then the information provided by the company itself. Through I could not find any direct information on the actual effects of red bull on children, I did however find out the major ingredient which is a great starting point to relate back to. The link with regards to this assignment is below: http://www.redbull.com/cs/Satellite/en_INT/Products/Red-Bull-Energy-Drink-021242751115866 Part B In order to know if my information is accurate, I would check the sources that I am using. For my sources for example: 1) WebMD is a â€Å"content staff blends award-winning expertise in medicine, journalism, health communication and content creation to bring you the best health information possible.† Furthermore all articles and information is reviewed by an independent medical review board. Additionally I feel that do to the natural and background of this type of website, biasness would not be present. Doctors and medically people alike are all about the health and wellbeing of society and would not give the public false information unless the side effects of the product were not evident to themselves at that time. 2) NineMSN.com and Australian Drug Foundation are both extremely creditable entities. With MSN and the Australian media being extremely creditable as they provide a country with up to date information, on the country itself, the world, health and sports. Whereas the Australian Drug Foundation who is sponsored by the Australian Government would not provide inaccurate information that could affect the public and in this example someone across the world. Furthermore I do feel that the media could and have influenced our population on other topics, but when it comes to health but I feel they are right on this their report in this case. 3) The Seattle Times, a 2010 Pulitzer Prize Award winning for achievements in newspaper journalism, literature and musical composition in America. Thus demonstrating their reputation for correct literature. Furthermore I choice this topic because it was directly related to my topic. Furthermore with the prestige’s award of the Pulitzer Prize winner for being a top journalism and literature newspaper, I feel that with that reputation you would not print information that is false and easily discredited. Thus demonstrating how they would not be bias over this article. 4) Redbull.com is the website of the company Redbull who makes the energy drinks that are directly related to my topic. Additionally, do to Government laws and regulations they are required to provide accurate information on their products and also to provide nutritional ingredients and information panels which include calories etc. However I do believe that Redbull would in fact be bias towards their product. If Redbull was to leave all their dirty laundry out in the open over their product they would not have any business. This is why I could not find any information with regards to children drinking Redbull on their websites. They must be aware of some health implications and chooses not to display this on their advertising website. Part C In order to determine if the person providing the information is a credible source of nutritional information I would have to take into consideration what exactly they are writing. With regards to my paper, i believe I have extremely creditable material through the source I am receiving it. On the other hand, I do not necessarily have extremely creditable individuals in the medical field with regards to medical studies besides doing the same research as myself excluding WebMD as this websites as it is run by a board of doctors. Additionally, I would love to personally sit down and interview RedBull as I do not believe in their product and upon exploring the negative health implications I feel that they should not be able to market their product towards children as it is unsafe. As for my other 3 sources, I CREDIBLE NUTRITION INFORMATION: INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT would love to sit down and throw ideas off of everyone as to other ways we could inform the public. I would love to know of any personal projects that they are also conducting or involved with.
